The Art of Seeing and Loving What Is

I am feeling so good. I have decided that I am back, and that feels good.

I have spent a little too much time waiting for the “perfect moment”. I was waiting—waiting for some magical moment or lightning bolt or whatever to jolt me back to me.

But here’s the thing: sometimes, that moment doesn’t come. The universe doesn’t RSVP to your pity party. No fairy godmother swings by with a glitter wand and a pep talk. So I did the only thing that made sense: I just decided I was back. Not “soon,” not “when I’m ready,” but right now.

No one else is going to bring you back, you have to decide this for you. This is what I have learned since being back 🙂 As always I love you guys, thank you for your love and support! xoxo

Life is messy, complicated, and full of noise. It’s easy to get caught up chasing what’s next, wanting more, or wishing things were different. But sometimes, the most radical act is simply this: to see what is—to truly notice and love the life you’re living right now.

The art of seeing is a skill we don’t practice enough. It’s about slowing down enough to catch the small details—the way sunlight falls on a leaf, the rhythm of footsteps on a sidewalk, the way someone’s eyes light up when they laugh. These moments may seem ordinary, but they hold a quiet kind of magic.

Perspective changes everything. When we open our eyes and hearts to the world around us, we can see it as a garden, growing and changing alongside us. Imagine a tree that sprouted the very same day you did—rooted in the earth, weathering storms, stretching toward the sun. That tree and you share a journey, one that is full of growth and resilience.

To truly see and love what is requires presence. It means being where your feet are—not stuck in the past or anxious about the future, but grounded in the here and now. Because we don’t see things as they are; we see them as we are. Our feelings, experiences, and beliefs color our view. When we become aware of this, we gain the power to choose how we perceive our lives.

Loving what is also means loving people as they are—not as we wish they would be. It means embracing their imperfections, their struggles, and their light. This kind of love is deep, real, and transformative.

Simplifying life, then, is less about removing things and more about shifting our focus. It’s about clearing the clutter in our minds and hearts so that we can appreciate the richness that’s already here.

We are surrounded by beauty and connection if we take the time to see it.

So today, I invite you to practice this art with me: slow down, look closely, and love fiercely—not in spite of imperfections, but because of them.

Be grateful for the breath you take, the people who love you, and the small moments that make life worth living.

Because the true gift is right here, right now.

And I love you!

Emi Sue 🙂
