Love is the greatest gift we can give, but it’s also the greatest gift we can receive. If you’re lucky enough to get to experience love, do not take that lightly.
Thanks for tuning in, happy reading 🙂

It really is a privilege to love someone, and to be loved well. To be chosen, understood, and seen for who you truly are. We don’t talk about that enough, how lucky we are to experience something so pure, even when it doesn’t last forever. Love teaches us more about ourselves than almost anything else does. It makes us softer, braver, more human.
But that’s also what makes heartbreak so hard. You go from being someone’s person to learning how to be yours again. There’s this ache in the absence — not just for them, but for the version of yourself that existed when you were loved that way. And yet, even through the pain, there’s a quiet knowing: how beautiful it was to have had it at all.
Because not everyone gets to love deeply. Not everyone gets to feel that kind of connection, the kind that changes how you see the world. So yes, heartbreak hurts. It cracks you open. But maybe that’s what makes it sacred too. That we get to feel something that reminds us we’re alive.
And eventually, when the sharpness of it fades, you start to see love differently. You realize it doesn’t just disappear when it ends, it stays with you, in small ways. In how you treat people. In how you listen. In how you love again, even cautiously. You start to understand that the point was never to hold on forever, but to have experienced it at all. To have known what it means to care for someone so much it reshapes the way you exist.
Maybe that’s the real gift of love — not that it lasts forever, but that it lingers quietly in who you become. The lessons, the softness, the depth — they stay. You carry pieces of every person you’ve ever loved inside you, like little reminders that you were brave enough to open your heart. And that’s something to be proud of.
Because at the end of it all, to love and be loved, even just once, even imperfectly — is one of the greatest privileges we’ll ever get in this life.
Love to you my friends,
Emi Sue 🙂
