Hey, I saw you earlier.
You were in the flowers in the park that just started to bloom, bright and soft against the morning sun.
You were in the vanilla latte I drank this morning, extra scoop of ice, the way it caught the light in the cup.
You were in the clouds, wispy and slow, stretching across the sky like they knew something I didn’t.
You were in the words I wrote, in the pauses and the sentences that felt like they were waiting for you.
And yeah, you were everywhere.
Not in a heavy way. Not in a “I can’t stop thinking about you” way.
Just in the way the world moves, quietly, tenderly, if you let it.
In the hum of the street as I walked.
In the sunlight spilling across the windowsill.
In the laughter of someone passing by, and the scent of something sweet I couldn’t name.
There’s magic in these small things, if you pay attention.
Moments that feel ordinary at first, until you realize someone, or something, is tucked into all of them.
Everywhere you look, little reminders that life is alive. That presence is constant. That beauty doesn’t always announce itself.
And maybe that’s what makes it feel like magic.
Not the grand gestures or the perfect moments.
But the tiny ones.
The ones that sneak up on you while you’re drinking your coffee, walking through a park, or just sitting quietly, noticing.
You were everywhere.
And in noticing, I started to see that everywhere isn’t just about you, it’s about the world.
How it whispers, nudges, surprises. How it asks me to be awake, to be present, to let myself feel the small wonder tucked into the ordinary.
Magic is in the everyday.
And if I’m paying attention, I’m everywhere too.
It was so good to see you,
Emi Sue
