A Moment In Between.

This piece came from a quiet moment, that split second between one year ending and another beginning, when everything feels suspended and full of possibility. Writing has always been how I make sense of those in-between spaces, and I’m really grateful you’re here to read it with me.

Thank you for the love and support you continue to show this little corner of the internet. It truly means more to me than I know how to put into words. I hope you find something in this that feels familiar, comforting, or hopeful, wherever you are right now. Here is to all the possibility that 2026 has to offer us. Happy Reading !

“You deserve all the dreams you keep hidden in your heart.”

There is a moment — so small you could miss it — where one year hasn’t fully let go and the next hasn’t arrived yet. It’s not loud. There are no fireworks here. Just a breath. A pause. A split second where time feels like it’s holding you gently instead of pushing you forward.

The end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026 exist like that. For a heartbeat, you are standing in two worlds. One foot in everything that shaped you this year, the lessons you didn’t ask for, the versions of yourself you outgrew, the nights that stretched longer than you thought you could survive. And the other foot hovering over something new, unnamed, not yet demanding anything from you.

It’s strange how rarely we allow ourselves to stay here. We rush to label the next chapter. We sprint toward goals, resolutions, expectations. But this moment in between doesn’t ask you to become anything yet. It just asks you to notice.

Because becoming doesn’t always happen in motion. Sometimes it happens in stillness. In the quiet realization that you are allowed to change without explaining it. That you can carry the wisdom forward without carrying the weight. That you don’t have to bring every old version of yourself into the new year just because they once kept you safe.

For a brief second, everything feels possible, not in a grand, overwhelming way, but in a soft, almost tender one. Like standing in a doorway, hand on the frame, knowing you don’t have to step through until you’re ready. A new season is at your fingertips, but only if you let it in. Only if you loosen your grip on what was.

And maybe that’s the quiet magic of this moment. It reminds you that you don’t need to force growth. You don’t need to chase reinvention. You just need to be willing. Willing to step forward lighter. Willing to trust that the person you’re becoming already knows the way.

As I step toward 2026, I feel hopeful. Not because I know exactly what’s coming, but because I trust myself more than I used to. Hopeful that love will keep finding me in unexpected ways. Hopeful that the life unfolding ahead of me will meet me with more gentleness than fear.

So if you feel a little suspended right now, not quite who you were, not yet who you’re becoming: stay there for a moment. Let yourself exist in the overlap. There is nothing wrong with the pause. Sometimes, it’s the most honest place to be.

Because for just a second, you are free from the past and unburdened by the future. And in that moment in between, everything begins.

Sending love to you,

Emi Sue
