To Be All In.

I think there is something so beautiful about people who are all in.

The people who love loudly. The people who care deeply. The people who throw themselves fully into the things that make them feel alive. The people who chase the dream, stay passionate, stay curious, stay hopeful even after life gives them every reason not to.

There is something magnetic about them.

And I think it is because being all in is one of the purest ways we can experience life.

To be all in is to let yourself fully love your people. To hug your friends a little longer. To tell someone you appreciate them while they are still here to hear it. To stay up too late talking about life. To build memories so full and meaningful that years later they still feel warm in your chest.

To be all in is to care about your passions enough to work for them. To create something even when nobody is watching yet. To stay dedicated. To keep learning. To believe your life can become bigger than what it currently is. To trust that the things pulling at your heart are there for a reason.

It is choosing to participate in your own life instead of watching it pass by.

I think about how many beautiful things in life only exist because someone decided to be all in. Relationships. Art. Communities. Dreams. Trips that changed someone forever. Businesses that started as tiny ideas. Friendships that became family. Entire lives transformed because someone chose not to hold back.

And yes, being all in can be scary. Caring deeply always is. But I think the best parts of life ask that of us. They ask us to show up completely. To risk being disappointed. To risk failing. To risk being seen.

Because when you are all in, you also get all the beautiful parts.

You get the feeling of accomplishing something you once prayed for. You get the late night conversations you never forget. You get the warmth of loving and being loved deeply. You get purpose. You get connection. You get stories. You get memories that become pieces of who you are.

You get to actually feel your life while you are living it.

I want to be all in with the people I love. All in with the experiences life offers me. All in with my passions, my work, my growth, my memories, my time here. I do not want to reach the end of my life and realize I stood too far away from it.

Because maybe the point of life is not to protect ourselves from feeling everything.

Maybe the point is to feel it all.

Maybe being all in is the closest thing we have to truly living.

Thinking of you,

Emi Sue

  2. Sometimes the hardest part of “being all in” is the judgement that comes from those that aren’t. The whispers behind your back from people you never believed would be the ones whispering. Thank you for continuing to share “thoughts by Emi”, I felt this one.
